Multi-functional Ottomans : worth it?
The short answer…..YES. But the real question is does an ottoman work for me?
Ottomans will always be one of my recommendations for small (or even big) homes. These ottomans tick every box in terms of storage: big enough to hold items, small enough to not be bulky, and chic enough to blend in.
We all know the feeling when there just isn’t enough space, and honestly, I feel like ALL the time I need more space, but lots of storage options (especially for small homes with limited space) are bulky, and honestly…ugly and unenjoyable to look at. That’s why you need something practical, budget friendly and storage efficient – an ottoman. Whether you’re looking for smaller storage solutions, or larger ones, this blog has it – the stats, pros and cons, and actual experiences – and minimal waffling 🙂

Bonlife Round Ottoman
Key features:
- 4-in-1 : hidden storage box, comfortable footrest, spare seat/stool and practical side table
- Comes in 2 sizes : 39×39×37cm or 58×58×44cm
- Easy assembly – tool free
- Quick folding flat design for easy storage
Out of many of the ottomans I researched into when I was buying my own, this one stood out, because of its easy assembly, cozy look and storage capacity, great for homes like mine where we could use one purchase for so many things at once, especially since it doesn’t take up much space and fits nicely into any home, with its many neutral colour options. Customers say it can be used in most areas of the home, in hallways as stools, living rooms as coffee tables, and in bedrooms as bedside tables, making it a flexible and budget friendly storage option.
Checking out the customer reviews told me a lot about the product, not just the pros, but also the cons, which, if you’re comparing options, is exactly what you need to know.
Many customers mentioned its easy assembly, practicality, and its looks, saying how it doesn’t look cheaply made, and fits well into their home. People also said that they loved using it as it could transition really quickly from foot-rest and stool, to side coffee table with a turn of the lid, making it a budget and space friendly option for getting more from less.
HONEST CONS:
– better suited to lighter-weight storage
– base area is made out of wood-effect plastic
If you’re looking for a larger storage option, mimicking a storage bench style for larger items and for a higher weight capacity, or if you’re looking for ottoman sets – you’re still in the right place.

BRIAN & DANY Ottoman Storage Box
This type of ottoman is for people looking for larger storage with a higher weight limit and capacity so you can fit more, while not sticking out in your home.
This type of Ottoman is the one I settled on having when looking for my own; it always holds a lot, so I can put as much away and out of sight, especially things I don’t need everyday that don’t need to be laying around my living room. I use it a seat most of the time, but it can also be used as a footrest and for other things.
One of my favourite things is that it DOESN’T look tacky or boxy in my home, unlike so many storage solutions I’ve previously got
